The hotel is an ancient palace, carefully restored and brought back to its former glory. It is constructed on the site of one of Venice's seven opera houses, the Teatro Sant'Angelo, which opened in 1676.
The hotel rises on a splendid location facing the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge. St. Mark's Square is only ten minutes away on foot. There is a private access to watertaxis, right on the Grand Canal, and the public boat stop, named Sant'Angelo, is only 10 metres away. The area offers many opportunities to dine out and to shop around.
The rooms are all well decorated and comfortable even if some are more spacious than others. Many rooms, especially junior suites, offer enchanting views over the Grand Canal. They are elegantly decorated, in a sober traditional style, using a soft cream colour scheme. Bedrooms and bathrooms are in very good condition, equipped with all the modern comforts.
