Luna Hotel Baglioni is the oldest hotel in Venice and the most central--San Marco's square is so close that you can reach the "Florian Cafe" without taking your slippers off. All the best shops are only a few steps from the hotel. From many rooms you can enjoy the beautiful view of San Marco's and St. George Island. It is the most ancient and the most central hotel in Venice. Reports of 1574 talk about the "Locanda della Luna" but even before. Since 1118 the House gave hospitality to the Kingths Templars during their visit to the "Serenissima" . At that time the rooms were not numbered, they were named after noble family names: dell'Anzolo, della Torre, del Sol... The sumptuous salon was frescoed in the 18th century and stocked with antique furniture. It has now been completely renovated and completely restored to all its former aristocratic splendor, without overlooking a technical aspect of fundamental importance: the high tides no longer invade the Luna; furthermore the hotel has been fitted out with a sophisticated system of pressurized tanks, that are independent of the foundations.
