Hotel Des Bains set on the banks of the nearby lido. This grand hotel reflects that not so long ago era when leisured aristocrats traipsed through europe with steamer trunks in tow. The Des Bains was understandably used as the setting of thomas mann's famous novel, death in venice. The high-ceilinged main salon leads out to an intimate l-shaped swimming pool and tennis courts.
